June 9, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Matt Pranter, Rex Cole, and Brandon Binford presented a paper entitled "Analysis and Modeling of Fluvial Sandstone-Body Architecture and Heterogeneity in the Cameo Interval of the Lower Williams Fork Formation in Coal Canyon, Southwestern Piceance Basin, Colorado".

June 9, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Rex Cole and Matt Pranter presented a paper entitled "Detailed Architectural Analysis of Two Point-Bar Complexes in the Cameo Interval of Lower Williams Fork Formation at "Hoodoo Hill,"

June 9, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Jill Haynie, Matt Pranter, and Mike Grammer presented a poster entitled "Characterization and Modeling of Petrofacies and Pore-Volume Distribution Within a Gas-Storage Reservoir, Ray Reef Field, Southern Michigan Basin, Michigan".

June 9, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Matt Pranter was co-chair with Bob Loucks and Chris Zahm for for both oral and poster technical sessions on reservoir characterization and modeling. The session title was Tight Gas Sandstones and Carbonates - Micropore Networks and Fracture Systems.

June 8, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Ericka Harper, Rex Cole, and Matt Pranter presented a poster entitled "Dimensions of Fluvial Geobodies in the Middle Williams Fork Formation, Main Canyon, Colorado".

June 7, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver, Rex Cole and Matt Pranter were awarded the A. I. Levorsen Award from AAPG for Best Paper presented at the RMS-AAPG in Denver. The paper is entitled: "Stratigraphic variability of sandstone-body dimensions in the Williams Fork Formation: outcrop data from the Southwest Piceance Basin, Colorado".

June 5-7, 2009: AAPG/SEPM Annual Convention in Denver. Matt Pranter was co-leader with Rex Cole, Steve Cumella, and Mark Kirshbaum of SEPM Field Trip #12: Iles / Williams Fork Field Trip, Southern Piceance Basin, Colorado.

May 1, 2009: Phase V of the Williams Fork Consortium officially began. Consortium is directed by Matt Pranter at the University of Colorado and Rex Cole from Mesa State College. Phase V currently has 12 sponsors.

April 24, 2009: University of Colorado, Williams Fork Consortium Sponsor Meeting, Boulder, CO. Matt Pranter, Rex Cole, and graduate students held the EMARC Williams Fork Consortium Sponsor Meeting: From rocks to models: outcrop-based analysis and statistics for subsurface characterization of fluvial reservoir geometry and connectivity, Williams Fork Formation, Piceance Basin, Colorado, U.S.A. Representatives from sponsoring companies attended the meeting, as well as participants from the University of Colorado and Mesa State College.
